"I had set the world on the table" - Gérard Rondeau
Monographic exhibition - Existing Works & unreleased - Photographs and videos.

"I had set the world on the table" will discuss the comings and goings of Gérard Rondeau between the siege of Sarajevo and the East of France, in a geography traces of war, but also time, 14-18, 1992-1996, a singular journey that builds on his visits to both places of the First World War and those of Bosnia and Herzegovina at war.
The exhibition discusses his friendship with Yves Gibeau (author of the mythical "Allons z'enfants") with which he tirelessly traveled the scene of the tragedy. After the death of Gibeau in 1994, Rondeau was, despite himself, a regular witness to his presbytery deserted ...
The confrontation of the images will generally be from geographically - travel photography -, but also way very pictorial - landscapes here and elsewhere - a Morocco tribute to Delacroix will can interact with a Reims's chronic, following a very personal reading of the city through the young rebels of the "Great Game" ... We also discover in this regard very personal photographs of Rondeau, both poetic and surreal, especially by his work "on writing".
The exhibition finally linger especially on Champagne, from anonymous portraits made by Rondeau in the late 80s until his singular approach to Reims Cathedral.

This exhibition will be accompanied among other texts of Christian Caujolle, Jean Clair, Philippe Dagen, Bernard Frank, Olivier Frébourg, Jean-Paul Kauffmann, Bernard Noël, Henri Gaudin ...
