The ground under your feet is a project started in 1999 and still in progress.

Its own subject is my life, ourselves, Europe.

With this work I try to photograph the history of Europe in my lifetime, my personal history and the one anybody can recognize as his own, the past and the present, trying to show memory from an emotional point of view ; I want to represent through my experience, and the encounters that came out of it, the most different pushes which anybody, in a different percentage, can find in his own heart.
This struggle among the most contrasting inner impetus, and the capability of dealing with or at facing them, is what most characterizes anybody's personal history and, generally, History.
The geographic itinerary (made of individuals besides places) is various and important because the only systematic aspect of the work.
My intention is to photograph all over Europe trying to leave out the least possible because the identification (both mine and of the observer) should be complete, and because we deal everyday with the most different cultures, contexts, individuals : all these things led us to be part of a complex stratification which put together our identity and made us become what we are today.

My work has no litteral social-anthropological aim nor it wants to follow any specific itinerary marked out by the official historiography;rather it refers to reality, to the immediate experience, to the small things, the books, the music and more in general to the art I like which influences my growth day by day.
