Avant d’être une fenêtre sur le monde, la photographie est un miroir de soi, des histoires qui nous encombrent, que les mots sont impuissants à dire, et qui demandent à sortir sans que nous sachions par quel moyen.
L’objet de ce workshop sera d’amener les participants à s’emparer de la photographie comme langage de cette intimité souvent étouffée, à creuser au fond de soi non seulement pour dire le monde tel que nous le voyons mais davantage encore pour tracer, par la photographie, les frontières d’un monde où nos obsessions et nos peurs prennent forme.
Après une analyse des travaux des participants, chacun sera guidé dans la composition d’une série, prétexte à l’exploration de ces univers intérieurs méconnus. Attentif à chaque parcours et à chaque rythme, Frédéric Lecloux mènera un travail individuel pour comprendre où chacun en est de son rapport à la photographie et permettre aux participants de questionner, d’orienter ou d’affirmer les choix qui définissent leur pratique photographique.
Une démarche similaire à celle de Frédéric Lecloux pendant la création de la série Brumes à venir, qui paraîtra aux éditions du Bec en l’Air au moment de ce workshop.
Biography
Frédéric Lecloux est photographe et écrivain. Il est né en 1972 à Bruxelles. Son écriture photographique, tout en lenteur et poésie obsessionnelle, mariant portraits en intérieur, objets du quotidien et paysages mélancoliques travaillés par une lumière naturelle et sans concession, s’assume comme un travail thérapeutique de délestage. Il a voyagé sur les routes de Nicolas Bouvier pour l’Usure du Monde (Le Bec en l’Air Editions) et dans un Népal en pleine mutation. Avant de se confronter avec son propre pays dans son dernier livre a paraître en octobre 2012, Brumes à venir. Il est également fondateur du projet e-ku.

Participants
Limited to a maximum of 12 people.
Programme
Friday, Day 1 : from 2 pm to 8pm
Introduction of the workshop supervisor and of the participants.
-Presentation by the workshop supervisor of his work.
-Review for each of the participants of their portfolio in the form of a group discussion
(individual review are also possible on demand during the week end).
Saturday, Day 2 : from 10 am to 8 pm
-Setting out and explanation of the briefs for the following two days.
-Participants are sent out to produce their assignments.
-Each participant will be asked to present his production.
Sunday, Day 3 : from 10am to 6 pm
-Start of the editing process, first alone and then again as a group.
-Review of the work produced.
-Round up table and discussion on the production of the workshop.
Conclusion of the workshop and assessment by the workshop supervisor and the participants.
Important Every participant should bring :
- their own portfolio, either in a digital form or as prints. Work in progress is most welcome.
- Laptop and digital camera are required because of the time constraints of this workshop.
Tuition fee
- Full price : 490 euros.
Simultaneous enrollment to two workshops of the program : 415 euros per workshop, hence 830 euros in total.
- Concession (unemployed, students and under 25) : 390 euros.
Payment
A 50% deposit is required when subscribing (postal check to be sent with the subscription form). Then the 50% balance will be required when subscription in confirmed (postal check to be sent with the confirmation email of your definitive subscription).

This latter will have to be sent - at the latest - 15 days prior to the beginning of the workshop. It must be accompanied by a postal check of 50% of the total fee, and addressed to the order of : Agence VU'
Final enrollement
Once the agency received the form, your enrollment to the workshop will be confirmed by email. Then, you will be requested to pay the rest of the amount due within 8 days before the beginning of the workshop.
Postal checks in Euros should be made to the order of Agence VU. For non French resident or people who do not own a bank account in France, the payments (pre payment and full payment) will have to be done by bank transfer (please contact us to have the IBAN number). Eventual transfer's fee will have to be paid by the participant.
Payment to be made to : Agence VU
You can book your workshop place by sending a payment of 50% of the full sum (this has to be sent with the enrollment form). The other 50% will have to be paid once the registration to the workshop has been confirmed and should be sent at the latest a week prior to the Workshop.

Numeber of articipants limited to 12.
Reproduction and diffusion autorisation The workshop participant authorizes Agence VU' to reproduce and distribute :
- any photographs of him or her taken during the workshop.
- the photographs he or she will have produced during the workshop and that has were chosen in a common agreement with the course leader.
These images will be used as documents in the framework of any communication material to advertise the workshops (on varied aid; internet, paper…). The participant renounce to ask for any compensation if any of her or his images were to be used in the communication of the workshops.
Cancellation
To be able to be reimbursed, the participant needs to notify, at the latest 8 days prior to the workshop, the agency. After this deadline, no reimbursement will be possible, unless in a case of major problem.
Workshop cancelation
Agence VU' reserves the right to cancel a workshop. In case of a cancelation, Agence VU will propose, in agreement with the concerned people, the possibility to take part in another workshop. In case no solution can be found, Agence VU will reimburse the fees to the participants.
